Tony Awcock

I have an unyielding passion and integrity to help people and organisationslearn, grow and change through positive approaches to leadership and organisation development.

Today I am a consulting practitioner in the fields of leadership development, organisation development and executive coaching. This builds upon an accomplished international HR career spanning 30 years specializing in leadership and organisation development in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology and healthcare, financial services and building materials industry sectors.

In my early career I was an HR business partner providing generalist HR support to line managers but I gradually moved from regional and national roles in the UK into international HR generalist roles. I gained my first experiences in international HR with GE. During my eight years with GE I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to join the corporate leadership development group affectionately known as GE Crotonville under the leadership of CLO Steve Kerr. This was a great opportunity to learn and deliver some of the key flagship leadership programs at GE and to implement them in Europe. I was also heavily involved in running change management workshops for key customers and suppliers of GE, and introducing WorkOut and Quality

After GE, I ventured into the Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology industry sector through my work with Monsanto, Novartis, Roche and Syngenta. I gained valuable experience in leadership development, talent management and organization development. I have designed, developed and implemented leadership and high potential development programs and processes; I have supported senior leaders with organization transformation and culture change; I have co-created new company values and leadership competency frameworks, and I have led corporate succession planning reviews with top leaders.

In my most recent role at Holcim where I was responsible for Leadership Development and Talent Management, I supported the previous and current CEO on top leader development and succession; I worked with the Executive Committee members on the identification, assessment, placement and development of talent, and I was responsible for the corporate driven executive education programs that were run in partnership with IMD and DUKE CE.

I was educated in the UK with an MBA (Bradford University) and MSc in Organisation Consulting (Ashridge Business School) and wrote my MSc dissertation on Appreciative Inquiry.
